My day started at 8:00 am and I shadow Dionicio Olmos at Sacred Heart Church. I chose him because he does little landscaping and janitor work. I chose this career because he does little landscaping and that's what I want to do in the line of work. When I got there I started to walk with him and reading the question to him. Then he said that he use to work in Champion Homes in Lindsay and then told me that you have to work hard, be reliable, know carpentry. The question I ask him what inspired you to choose your career. He answer me and said that his whole life he worked in construction, carpentry so I had experience with hands on labor. Another question that I ask him was what it the most challenging part of your job. Teaching young people how certain things worked and having patience dealing with lack of experience this what he said to me. I learned that he use to work many jobs and gave me straight forward answers and that why I liked talking to him. For this kind of work you have to give straight forward answers and don't beat around the bush. For this of work I didn't disliked anything because you have to man up and push forward. Spending the day with Mr. Olmos I realize that this is the career path that I want to follow and work my way up of the ranks. I know the long the way I am going to have a degree on landscaping contractor. I feel that this is the career that I what to take because I enjoy being active and hands on work.
